Theory and phenomenology of heavy-ion collisions

Research topics

Our research concentrates on various aspects of the theory and phenomenology of nucleus-nucleus collisions at high energies, e.g.:

  • production and propagation in a hot QCD medium of energetic partons or quark-antiquark pairs;
  • gluon saturation (small-x physics);
  • thermalisation and collective phenomena (hadron production, flow...).

Typical approaches are either first principle methods (perturbative QCD, kinetic equations...) or effective models (fluid dynamics...).
