Aspects of QCD at Finite Density

University of Bielefeld, Germany

September 19 - 23, 2011

Block Course
of the
International Graduate School, GRK 881
Bielefeld - Paris - Helsinki
"Quantum Fields and Strongly Interacting Matter"

Intended for PhD students, but application is open to anyone interested

We kindly invite applications to the 2011 Block Course of the International Graduate School "Quantum Fields and Strongly Interacting Matter", centered around the properties of QCD at finite density.

Our invited lecturerers will inspect the topic from a variety of angles, with the physical systems of interest ranging from the cold nuclear and quark matter found inside neutron stars to the hot quark-gluon plasma produced in heavy ion collisions. The methods discussed cover a wide spectrum of tools from lattice QCD and perturbation theory to the gauge/gravity duality and random matrix models.

We are glad to announce that there is no attendance fee. Limited support (in the form of free accommodation) will
be available for very few exceptional cases, who should contact the organizers directly.
The lectures and exercises will take place in the university main building in rooms D2 - 136 and D2 - 152.

You will find the blockcourse secretariat in room E6-133.
